Know a good place to buy this?

I need some type of furniture that is specifically designed to have a TV sit on top of it and components below it. I'm not sure where to begin looking for something reasonably priced that would suit me. Any suggestions? :P

Those are fine, but not demo!! The demo furnature always has the crap beat out of it.

I don't like the sound of wood chips...I want something that looks nice but doesn't break the bank. I saw some stuff on Best Buy but I don't really think that's the place to buy this kind of stuff. Not really sure about Target but I can definitely tell you I wouldn't be shopping for something like that at Wal Mart...no offense.

I bought mine from an oak furniture warehouse,$250USD but it's solid oak(sucker weighs 200lbs) and will last a lifetime.

I was looking to build my own. I have a 19" TV on my dresser in the bedroom and I bought a new DVD/VCR combo. It doesn't sit right ontop of the TV and theres no room to the sides.

Do a web search for "entertainment centers" There as many styles, sizes and materials as there are people that want them. I have built several from $1000 to $5000. Depending on the design or style that you choose and the material that you want you can build your own from about $200 in material and the sky is the limit. I like building the big ones. I mean filling the whole end of a room wall to wall and floor to ceiling and having room to work behind it. I have blown out walls to make media rooms from two rooms and treyed ceilings to blend them all together. I work with my clients to give them everything that they want. (this eats up alot of time and lowers my hourly average on pay, but I like doing the work and I like happy customers) I always get invited to watch the Superbowl or whatever by my customers and I have to turn down a lot of refferals (I only have two hands) I am looking at doing a two storie librairy with either a cat walk or rolling ladder. Man that will be fun!

I'm still looking. There are lots of places to choose from and I may devote a little more time this weekend or next to searching for something(I've been slacking on trying to find something ).

Best to look in person for this sort of thing instead of online. Shipping would probably be too much anyways. Make sure it will hold your size of TV. May be even a good time to invest in an electric drill, if you have not already. They require assembly, some more than others of course.

why not just stack your new TV on top of the old one that doesn't work.

Stay away from particleboard or MDF constructed items.... load 'em up and try to move 'em around and they will fall apart.

Spend the extra buck or two and get a plywood carcus and solid wood face frame and doors... you will be happy years down the road (IMO)

The Concrete blocks last a long time, and a good solid board (not the particle s**t) will hold it up well. Lay 2X4's under the shelving to make it more rigid and sturdy. If you find them to be ugly, adjust your whole motif to look similar. Take the classy picture frames off and replace with bare wood moulding. Get a table & chair set made of a sheet of plywood and 2X4 construction. Hardwood can look really nice especially when stripped of preen & wax. Better yet, go with the solid concrete look. Awfully cool in the summer. Change out the fancy knobs on the cupboards and replace with HEX nuts & bolts. Make a sofa out of cinder blocks & rought iron rebar.
