I have an Aopen 1640pro dvd rom that previous to yesterday was ripping dvds great, up to 12x on a single layer disc. I am at a loss for why this is happening, the only thing I did was install a game with multiple cds and then I go to rip a dvd and it goes at 2x on a single layer disc. That just doesn't make sence. anyone have any clues, I forgot to check the DMA settings, but I am not in front of it right now.

you answered your own question.....check to see if DMA is enabled....

Need more information. What program are you using to rip? DVD Shrink etc.
But not having DMA enabled would be the likely culprit. -
Well, I have to wait until I get home for that, but how would it change without myself doing it, I mean it was working fine for so long.
This is using DVDshrink and Dvddecrypter, I also started up that Nero cdspeed thing but that doesn't seem to do anything either.
