AOL Service How to download mail from Cabinet

I have a friend who has AOL on her old pc...She bought a new pc and wants to save the old mail in her AOL file cabinet and transfer it over to her new PC .Is there a simple way to do this or can it be done at all..Thank you in advance for any help

If the version of AOL is older than the 9.0 version, all your saved mail is in your AOL Organize folder.


You can just replace the current Organize folder with the old one, and it'll restore all your old settings and mail.


9.0 is a little more tricky - you might have to uninstall the 9.0 version and install an older version, put the old Organzie folder in there in place of the one it installs...then install 9.0 and select the save your current settings option when asked.


BTW, you can open up the old mail as a txt file in any text program and save it there as well - that way, you won't need AOL to read the saved mail.
