  1. If there are already answers on this forum please let me know. I tried searching.

I want to keep the main movie, the main menu to navigate the different chapters, and the subtitles

There are many different ways, and many different programs.

The simplest is DVD Shrink. Make a small, black jpg file in paint. Load the dvd into Shrink, and on the items you don't want, change compression to image (or similar) and browse to your black jpg. Repeat until you have replaced everything but the main feature. You can also remove unwanted languages and subtitles to make sure it fits on a DVD-/+R. DVD Shrink is free.

You could also use VobBlanker to remove the unwanted items. Not quite as intuitive as DVD Shrink, but it makes for a smaller size most of the time.

Finally, you could look as DVD Remake or DVD Remake Pro to the do the same sort of thing as DVD Shrink, but without the Shrinking capability.

I personally would use DVD Shrink in re-author mode. You don't get the menus, but you save the most space, and can use your DVD remote to switch chapters, subtitles and languages anyway.
