    who can tell me the diff between video 1.0 and video 2.0 when it comes to vcd's?
    and can one be converted to the other,
    as my dvd player will only play video 2.0
    any help would be great

    the video cd 2.0 specification is backwards compatible. perhaps the disc itself is the culprit. have you confirmed it works with any other player? as to conversion you will lose the menus, but it is a simple task(vcd gear springs to mind)

    Video 1 is a more restricted version of video 2. If you have a vid 1 disc it should be played with a video 2 player. I think the about VCD section here has a description of it. If not the documentation that comes with vcdimager tells you all about it.
