I'm looking at buying the Pioneer 108 DVD writer. It's OEM and it doesn't come with any software. I would be backing up my DVDs (especially my new Band of Brothers box set!)
From what I've read here I was thinking all I needed was DVD Decrypter and possibly DVDShrink only, rather than buying retail software like Nero.
Is this right?
From what I've read I would use DVD Decrypter "Read" for getting the appropriate files from the source DVD and then the "Write" part of the program for burning them to a DVD.
I would need DVDShrink only if it's DVD-9 and trying to get it to DVD-5.
Is my line of thinking correct? I don't need to purchase any software like Nero?
Thanks for your help. Great site by the way too!

You may want something to burn audio CDs and data DVDs, but you can get those for free, as well.

Hey guys! Thanks for the quick replies. Much appreciated.
I'm glad it would all work out with just DVD Decrypter and DVDShrink.
I called the store and they are actually expecting the new Pioneer 109 so I think I'll wait for that one instead. I would expect firmware would be coming out shortly too right?
Thanks again for your help!
