Does anyone know of a program to burn and views Photo CDs. I'm not sure if Xatshow is what I am looking for for because it says the CDs can be viewed in a DVD/VCD player. I think what I want is called a KOodak Photo CD Disc.

Hello Vanlee,
I've tried out the demo version, but the audio skiped everytime it switch the image. Does it happen in the purchased version. Thanks -
I bought this downloaded version too. For me it worked fine. Sometime it skips only in pc when you try to play using menu(that is also only in the begining). But in dvd player it works fine.
one more thing, I created a picture vcd in pal format. It was working fine in my dvd player. but when i send this to my parents they said the audio is not good. It is kind of fast. But they are able to watch the photos.
I am thinking the problem could the portable vcd player which my parents have.(panasonic vcd player) -
I use nero for making photo cd's
It is very easy, and they look great on my tv.
The only problem I have encountered is that I cannot pause the slide show once it starts (on my dvd player), I assume I just have some setting wrong.

Kodak PhotoCD was their first attempt at a mass market CD based photo distribution format. It used a proprietary compression method and the disk usually contained the pictures at a variety of resolutions for everything from TV viewing to high end print output. It was only available at photo labs afaik and I don't know of any consumer software for producing a PhotoCD. Kodak also had a TV player for PhotoCD but it never really caught on.
Next came Kodak PictureCD which is based on standard jpeg compression up to I think 1.5 megapixel resolution. There is PC software to create your own PictureCD but I don't know of any DVD players that will play them. There are a few DVD players that will display jpeg images off a regular data CD but that's different than a PictureCD.
You can create a VCD based picture slideshow with software like TSCV or Nero and other CD authoring programs. I think Xatshow does this and also has a PC based slideshow program. VCD based slideshows are probably your best bet for compatibility with a wide range of DVD players.
