In the US, you set it to "1."
Did you even try to open the "VIDEO_TS" folder to see what's inside?
Use Apple's DVD player to test play.

  3. Most Audio_TS folders are empty. In fact I have never come across one that had anything inside it. Some of the older players, if being very anal about the DVD structure, might not be able to play discs without an audio_ts, but you can simply create an empty folder named audio_ts and burn that with your video_ts. Read the sticky at the top of the forum about how to properly burn DVDs in Toast if you are experiencing problems.

yeah, i tried it set to '1' the first time and when that returned the one folder result, i tried '2' and 'off' - i wasn't gonna just go thru all of them cuz it takes too long, so i figured i'd ask and see... i don't know mush about what's inside the folders - nothing that looks familar to me - a bunch of .vob, .bup, .ifo - no idea bout that... but yes, it does play on Apple's DVD player - does that mean it'll work 'as is??' sorry, if i just wasted ur time on a stupid question....

  5. Yup, should work as is. The VOB, IFO and BUP files are exactly what is expected inside your video_ts folder. The only remote chance that you'll see a problem is if your DVD player is very old, but I doubt you'll encounter any hitches. Even if you did encounter a hitch it is usually easily solved and you'll know how finicky your DVD player will be in the future when you burn other backups.

When i back up my DVD's i never get an audio file, i get my audio file only after i use DVD2oneX and then the folder is empty. When you burn the DVD you will have sound though.

  8. ya know what, i've never seen an audio folder with anything in it either, lol... don't know why i was sweating it, lol... and hey tgpo, nice for calling me out on that, that's pretty typical of me though - not as a disrespect to religion (not by any means)...

but ok, back to the problem - in my earlier post when i said it worked fine in the Apple DVD player, that was before the compression (i'm using DVD2one to compress). once i compressed it, i get sound only during the menus (no sound in the movie itself)... never had this happen before... any suggestions????

  9. When you select a VIDEO_TS to shrink in DVD2OneX a drawer should pop out which usually has multiple listings. AC3 6ch English Normal, AC3 2ch French Normal, etc. In this case you might see "AC3 6ch Aramaic Normal." (just kidding) You'll notica small checkboxes next to these listings. Select the audio tracks you want to keep (I usually jettison the director's commentary and foreign language tracks) by clicking on the checkbox. Now you can hit the Start button.
