Hello people, just looking for some advice. I am hoping to get rid of my pc which has 2 107 burners for a laptop. The problem is I am wondering if it is possible to burn on the fly to an external burner via firewire (pioneer 108) and what the transfer rates are like using the laptop burner as the reader and whether they will be stable, and vice versa with external hard drive to laptop burner?
All help much appreciated!![]()

I imagine it would be possible with the proper external enclosure. You might have to limit recordind to 4x or 8x. The thing I would be most concerned about is who manufactured the dvd drive in the laptop. It could be a Nec, Liteon or any other. I would recommend checking http://club.cdfreaks.com and www.cdrinfo.com for more info.
Note: I am only guessing it is possible to burn on-the-fly with a laptop. Some people say dog is mans best friend. I say that man is dog's best slave... At least that is what my dogs think.
