I have several dvd players. Two of them with a date of manufacture 1999 and 2001, can only read burned DVD-R at 2X speed. If it is burned on 4X speed, it becomes pixellated or hangs. I can go to any of the newer DVD players and the burned DVD-R plays great. I am not able to replace one of the DVD players because it is in a car. I'm not ready to buy a new car or replace the DVD player in it. My old computer DVD burner burns only at 2X. I can use 8X DVD-R and all my DVD players can play the burned DVDs great also. My process is DVDecripter and burn on disc with Intervideo DVDcopy.
Now I have a new computer with a Lite-On DVDRW S0HW-832S. My DVDcopy does not have a burn speed option rate. I tried Dvdecripter/DVDshrink/burn with Dvdecripter with changing the max speed to 2X. I get a message of Write Error. I get no error when I move the max speed to 4X using the same process but my 2 DVD players can't read it. I am using Memorex, TDK or Maxell 4X or 8X DVD-R. I found some 2X TDK DVD-R. I just use my old method of DVDdecripter and burn with Intervideo DVDcopy. All my DVD players can read the burned DVD's great. But I can't find 2X DVD-R in the stores and the price for the 2X online are unreasonably too high.
What can I do to slow down the Lite-On 832 using the freeware I have available?
Thanks,
rippmm
