  1. I got a .mov file and I have been unable to track down the proper codec to play it. I have used avicodec, and gspt to no avail. I also used video inspector which only lists the audio and I have been unable to find an available codec for mp4a does anyone know what I should do?

  2. I actually found out I had the codec. I looked into the movie properties in Quicktime and found that it ran a newer version of 3ivx than I had and now it seems to work fine. Thanks for the help thogh.

mp4a is a container and technically it could contain mp3 which windows comes with a decoder for.

3ivX comes with a mp4/mov splitter and an aac decoder (mp4/mp4a generally uses aac), however from recollection the decoder is time limited so you might want to check out coreaac for decoding.
