I took a test to see if I could qualify for Mensa. After I achieved a high enough score, I realized that it wasn't nearly as important as some make it out to be. As someone already observed, all it means is that you can do well on a certain kind of test. I know plenty of very intelligent people who do very poorly on tests. If I limited my friends to those with "high IQ's", I wouldn't have very many good ones.....

142.. i took a written one at school and got a 151 a few years ago. Ive actually taken these tests a lot and found there are different versions and some are easier. i actually took one a few years ago the said women automatically score 5 points lower just in the grading LOL ... if a women and a man took the test at the same time and both got all answers correct the man would score 5 points higher.. now thats what i call funny..

P.S. spelling ability has nothing to so with your IQ for all those that like to poke fun at my poor spelling..

shit i got 150!!!!!! there is no way this test accurate, you need a much broader range of questions to get a decent score IMO, plus i took a much more accurate one a while ago and got 120.

cobra- what score did you get on the site, and what score did you get when you took the exam for uni? would be interesting to see if your score differed as much as mine m8

It depends on the test and what range they use as to what your IQ is.

If you look on that site it has the entrance requirements for Mensa and it shows the different tests that they accept and all of them have different scores.

Nothing to be shamed about there. And about on par with the real one I took in high school. (The one that made my english teacher flip out because he couldn't understand my low grades. I just didn't care)

Of course I do agree it was hardly long enough to be a real guage, screw a few things up and you score would be toast or get lucky and suddenly your way underpaid i fyou get my drift.

Even a real, professionally given IQ test only indicates potential. Not "smarts". My mother used to describe it as an uncut diamond.

However, the online tests seem to agree with my score on those two full tests. They were exactly the same, and one full test was given at age 6, one at age 12. Then on two different online tests in recent years they were exactly the same.

But, like I said, they only indicate you have the tools ....not that you competently use those tools
