I have this AVI that i need to resize and i saw that virtualdubmod can do that but, when i set the filter up and have everything ready to work i see the projected size of the file afterwards is 139 gigs!!! I don't have this much space on my hard drive, and even if i did i don't know what i would do with a 139 gig AVI...So my question is, is there anyway to make the output file smaller. I saw that the output file of "direct stream copies" are smaller than "full process" files but, i can't put filters on a "direct stream process" any help would be great.

pick a compression type - you are using uncompressed

Forgive my ineptitude but, how would i do that? I have tried choosing a DivX compression for the file but, it still won't reduce in size.

Video -> Full Processing Mode
Video -> Compression...
Select Divx from list, press Configure for settings.
Save as... AVI -
