aspect ratios in Adobe Encore

I'm using Adobe Encore to author a DVD with some tv episodes on it. Six to be exact. I've done all the conversions and what have you with TMPGEnc Plus and MainConcept, so there isn't any transcoding in the program involved.

When I preview the DVD from the program, everything looks great. When I put it into the DVD player, everything looks great until you actually watch the episodes. When they play on the TV, they're not 16:9 like they should be. They're being stretched out to fit the screen, so there is some distortion going on. When I made them in TMPGEnc Plus, I made sure that I did the full screen keep aspect ratio, so I don't know what's going on. Encore sees them as 16:9, because when I play them on the computer, I get the black bars at the top and bottom. Am I missing something?

At the bottom right, there should be a checkbox for 4:3 and 16:9..

Could that be your problem?

Try set you DVD player out to TV 4X3.

The box is grayed out and checked for 16x9.

and I duplicate with TMPGEnc MPEG Editor to 2min.
I burn to DVD-RW using Adobe Encore 1.5.1 and test on my DVD player.

SORRY abort delay I not identify you email(I have a lot spam), you should drop message in the forum if I receive the file. Its playing wide 16:9, I use Encore version 1.5.1.42735 and played on dvd player Pioneer DV-366. I use 1 sec. duplicate to 20 sec.and without duplicate only 1 sec., still playing wide 16:9.
Maybe you dvd player not compatible with Encore, try make with TMPGEnc DVD Author.
Try make test with 10 seconds to save time.

Or its not playing wide 16:9, maybe its because you playing in Sony Playstation 2.
