dvd burner only works as a cd-rom burner

its weird how it does it if i open my compuer so you can see the disc drives

if you put a dvd-r in regardless is its already a cd, when it loads, the second it does it says CD DRIVE, (previously DVD-RW DRIVE)

when you pop the dvd-r back out, it once again becomes DVD-RW DRIVE

please, pleasase fix this, i already tried formatting....

also i forgot, my dvd drive is _NEC - DVD_RW ND-2510A
