  1. hey people, thanks for this forum and some helpful advice its provided.

ive done a `quick` search around the forum for some help with these problems but couldnt find a clear answer.

my first question if how do i burn muliple ts_video folders as a playable dvd ie; lots of simpsons avi`s to ts_video to 1 dvd using toast? i tried but the dvd only played the 1st one.

secondly, can i and/or how do i burn a ogg vorbis media file using ffmpex? tried but it failed.

    thanks for the help.

  2. You can't put multiple Video_TS folders on a DVD. DVD players will only recognise one video TS folder - that folder should contain all of the video and audio information.

If you want to put multiple episodes onto one DVD you need to create them as separate mpeg2 files and then author them in one DVD using sizzle or something similar.

What are you trying to burn the ogg/vorbis as and how? FFmpegX is a encoder, muxer, demuxer and authoring programme, not a media burner.

For .ogm files, use the mencoder engine.

  4. thanks for the tips,

im going to give it a try now with mencoder. i got my terminology wrong. what i ment to say was i want to encode an ogg file not burn it using ffmpegx.

  5. still no luck.

i tried to encode the ogg file with mencoder, by choosing the default Mpeg4 (avi) (mecoder) was this the right one? i ended up with an avi file but no audio or srt. subtitles.

    any ideas anyone?

also when trying to put to avi file in the same dvd with sizzle i end up with a dmg file...should i burn this directly in toast`s data folder using the dvd-rom (udf) option or is the disk image ment to be burnt somewhere else?

sorry for the simple questions but im still trying to get my head around this dvd making business.

    thanks

Use toast's copy window and select images to burn the DMG to a DVDR, or you can open the .dmg, drag and drop the VideoTS files and the AudioTS folders into the "data" window with DVD-UDF chosen. (the AudsioTS folder is empty but some DVD players don't like it if it's not there.)

Either will work. BTW - open the IMG and play the DVD in Apple DVD Player first, just to make sure it works (if you open the .img first, DVD player will automatically find it when it is launched)
