When you pass out, then you'll know.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore. -
I remember as a kid buying the bottles of the Vitamin C that tasted like candy and eating a whole bottle of them in a day.
Never hurt me. -

I thought vitamin C was the kind of vitamin that if you have to much it just goes right through your system, as opposed to the other kind which can build up......I forget the names though.

When your urine conatins pulp and starts smelling like Florida Orange Juice -- well, you've probably had too much. Also -- If your fecal matter contains orange zest, then you've probably had too much.
I would watch for these tell-tale signs !!
I hope this helps !!

The VIT C suppliment I take has 850% of the Daily Value of Vit C. It's to the point now that if I blow my nose orange pulp shoots out of my nose. On the up side I don't have to smell any foul oders anymore. Everything smells like an orange grove to me now

VIt C will go through you if you have to much.. i take lots and lots of it every day.. 3 to 4k milligrams min a day.. smokers can take more nicotine eats C up.. if you start to get the runs you might want to back off a few

Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) will pass through you once all your cells are saturated with it. It is passed out in the urine.
I've done an experiment on this before. -
You drank your urine to see if it had pulp in it?Originally Posted by Cobra

No, we took a known dose of vitamin C (1000mg). We then titrated it with chemicals to determine the concentration of vitamin C present in samples taken every couple of hours afterwards.
We determined two things:
- You are very efficient at getting rid of it
- My body was totally saturated in vitamin C, which I expected since I drink a lot of fresh orange juice
Then we drank it.

The best way to take vit c is through a source of vitamin c such as citrus fruit, or just orange juice. Taking vit c tablets is really inefficient, less than 48% gets absorbed.
The level of vit c subsides when the excess is picked up by the tissues that store it. The highest concentration of stored vitamin C is in the adrenal gland; however, the liver stores the largest amount of the vitamin in the body.
All cells saturated cobra?? lol, only jokin, i know what u mean. -

your supposed to avoid taking large doses of this vitamin. As a matter of fact, an Upper Limit was set in 2000 as part of the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs). For adults, this level was set at 2000 mg per day. Taking doses this large can result in diarrhea, stomach cramps, and nausea. These unpleasant symptoms are from the vitamin being unabsorbed in your intestinal tract. Besides, it's a waste to take such a large amount because the more vitamin C you take, the less your body absorbs.Originally Posted by SquirrelDip

I wouldn't take more than 1g a day, because as others have said, any excess is just excreted by the kidneys - chronic mega doses of Vit C have been associated with renal damage and failure.
