  1. The guy at Office Max told me never try erasing home movie files from DVDs. Movies are permanent files and can't be erased even from +RWs. Is this true?

    Never trust a guy who sells furniture to be the authority on video (or anything else for that matter).

    I would take advice from my grandmother before a guy at OfficeMax/OfficeDepot/Staples/Best buy/ Circuit City/etc./etc./etc.

    If it's RW, it can be erased.

    RW = Read / Write
    end of story

    I dont tend to trust people in retail full stop (especially on a weekend )

    Sometimes RW's are a little less compatible with drives. My standalone wont play RW's of the same brand of standard DVDs that i normally use....

    PS. I dont know how many times you can re-write to a re-writeable disc, although i expect there is a manufacturer statistic on the such i bet it REALLY high..

  5. One Guy at Future Shop told me that I couldnt capture a Laser Disc with a Set-top DVD recorder because its Digital Video and I'm just waisting my time..
