    hello every one
i recently bought a BenQ 8X DVD+R 25 pack. i burned a few back ups but the thing is is that the BenQ 8X DVD+R doesnt play on my standalone DVD player (check my profile to find out my standalone). however, the DVDs which i backed up from (Memorex 4X DVD+R), they do work. so what could the problem be here?

Your player doesn't like that media ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

BenQ 8x DVD+R carries a Daxon media code, and they're supposed to be decent but not the best. It's possible the Memorex discs were RICOHJPNR01 which are (were?) very high quality and that may explain the difference in performance.

I've got a BenQ burner and their 4x discs work fine in all the players i've played them in. Are you bitsetting to -ROM?

um i dont think i am, actually to tell you the truth i wouldnt even know what or how to biset...

however i did read somewhere that -R play on most DVD players, and the +R are a minority ( i think it was WIKIPEDIA). so even if i did accidentally BITSET to -R, whouldnt there not be any problem?

o BTW, i did try the same DVD+R in a CineVision DVR 1000 DVD+VCR Dual Deck, and it worked fine. if it makes any difference, happy posting...
