In my house? My wife never wins an argument as she is incapable of applying pure logic to a discussion. She always has to revert to an emotion. Now, if you consider her crying and my having to apologize for making her cry, "winning"....

Oh, and I'm no English major, but isn't it empathic? Although, if you removed the "em" from your spelling.....

Both are valid words in the dictionary, they are just synonyms.
(Besides, I've hated the word Empathic since Deanna Troy on Star Trek)

Concede does not imply victory – men are more likely to give in, this has nothing to do with losing the argument (we are seldom wrong). Women have the ability to “hold out” longer than men – a valuable tool in the ol’ relationship game.
