    Well right before I went to burn my dvd i put together i ran into a little bump in the road... I am using DVDAuthorgui for the first time and im using an srt type for the subs.

    here is what it looks like via screenshot

    and here is what it looks like when i load the file into DVDAuthergui

    and here is the subtitle line
    16
    00:00:47,480 --> 00:00:48,370
    16,,Style1,,0000,0000,0000,,Commencing operation.

    should I just remove all the 16,,Style1,,0000,0000,0000,, part or convert to a different subtitle format... and which format? Thank you all for the help

    That looks like a .ssa line, not a .srt!?!
    Maybe a bad ssa to srt conversion?

    Should only take a minute to remove that line and save the file,its just basically a text file with a srt extension.

    Sounds like the original ripper goofed up on the sub to srt,you gotta redo all the text or look for replacement srt.You might be able to find a text editor that will remove that specific line if its the same for all the lines.I just tried a document on ms word and it will remove all common sentences you specify.

    Take my word - it's not a .srt file you've got - it's a .ssa file!
    Either way, it's a plain text file, and editable by hand in any text editor, or using some dedicated subtitles editor like subtitle studio.
    Could you open it in Notepad and post the first 10-20 lines?

    ok i fixed it all and loaded it all into dvdlab pro... dvdlab reconised it all and well... made the videots folder and when i went in to check it out with windvd before i burned it... NO SUBS. i right clicked and nothing will display... used other programs and still... NOTHING.

    Was i supposed to click on the generate subtitle stream in the subtitles section... or was selecting the "select this subtitle on by default" plus adding in the VM command of SetSTN(subp=0n) to each episode my down fall?
