  1. OK, I've searched the forums and web and so far everything I tried failed. What I have tried so far is:
    1. I ripped the movie to VOB and tried to encode it burn it using NERO (nero kept crashing).
    2. I tried other programs as well along the lines of what #1 does and it always crashed on encoding (I was always trying to reincode the VOB's).
    3. I edit the ifo file and even though it works it came out "stuttering" on the picture.

I know I can rip it into VOB, convert it to avi and then reencode it, but that's too much work (for now). Also I would end up loosing all the menus.

Anyways, since resutls of my searches returned threads and messages that were at least 6 months old, I'm hoping that since then someone came up with a better way of copying PAL DVD's to NTSC DVD's in as few steps possible while keeping the menus intact. So on that note: is there a better way of copying those movies?

  2. Keeping the menus?

That's a bit tougher. I've used Nero to reencide PAL to NTSC, but only with raw footage, no IFO's.

    Maybe DVDSANTA ?

ALthough people say they have issues

Yes that is an option, but for a couple of reasons it's not a practical one.
