I wonder when a manufacturer will put on the market a DVD-Recorder with a Dual Layer Multi-formats DVD writer and a minimum 80 GB hard disk...
If anyone has any (reliable...) info about that, please let us know...
The strange thing is that we can't get a new DVD writer to put in a computer which is not DL and -R/+R...
So, are they really manufacturing obsolete product just to have us buy a new DVD-recorder in 1 year?
What a complicated world...

Capitalizing on Sony's DVD recorder leadership, among the 2005 HDMI product to debut is the RDR-HX715 DVD recorder with a hard disc drive and HDMI output. The unit incorporates a 160GB hard drive and broad media compatibility with DVD+R/+RW/-R/-RW and +R double layer disc compatibility for larger recording capacity.
The RDR-HX715 will be available in September for about $700. -
There is a DL dvd recorder, I posted about it in the dvd recorder section. About $230.

Now that 4X DVD-R DL standard is also coming along this year, we would probably expect DVD±R DL recording feature on standalones during the second half of next year as the earliest. -
"With a hard-disk ????"
Well, no..... I hope it would be part of a HD dvd recorder when they come out . -
Hi,
What's exactly "HDMI" ?
Does it allow connection to a PC ?
Thanks,
