Strange Problem While Encoding to .vob in Xilisoft

hey guys, i recently tried to encode a .vob file from an avi file using xilisoft. The conversion starts out okay, actually pretty quickly, i usually go do something while i am encoding so that i dont use the computer, but when i come back(like 5 hours later), it is stuck on 89% or 50% and i look at the vob file being created and it says that it is 0 kb. what the hell? my cpu is running at 100% so you think it would be doing something! what could be going on? has this happened to anyone using Xilisoft? thanks !
