  1. im in canada...
    gota cam corder..just recorded some video...of course its in NTSC format.
    is it possible/easy to convert that vhs tape to PAL???, for a friend in OZ.

    OR

    get the video from cam corder and put it on my PC, do i just plug it in my video card? do i need any software? etc...

    Hi ginneypig,

    Q1: Check with your friend in Oz to see if his equipment (player and TV) will play NTSC. When I lived in the UK (also PAL) it was common for our equipment (Europe) to play NTSC as well as PAL.

    Q2: Is it a DV cam? If so, if it's not too old it will have a firewire out port. Hook this up to a firewire port on your PC and capture to DV AVI using WinDV.

    From there, you have many options: VCD, SVCD, DVD etc. There are other possibilities too...
