Hello all,

I have been a regular visitor to videohelp.com for nearly 2 years, but have only recently registered as a member. I've got some free time, so I thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself.

I am a native Californian whose ancestors emmigrated from the U.K. some 250 years ago. I am a university graduate with a degree in Broadcasting, and have a lifetime F.C.C. General Class Radiotelephone License. I have been employed as an operations television broadcast engineer for most of my life and have been interested in computing for more than two decades. I still vividly remember upgrading my Apple II+ from 48k RAM to 64K RAM and adding a second 5 1/4" drive. (I really thought I was in heaven with those upgrades.)

While I have often been labeled as a "techie" my interests are actually quite varried, and I genuinely consider myself to be a "Jack of all trades, but master to none." If I was forced to label myself, I would say I'm an "Observer of human nature."

My wife and I met 20 years ago and have been married for 16 years. We do not have any children, but do consider our dog(s) to be bone-ified (ha ha) members of the family. (I know what you're thinking.)

In all these years, Videohelp.com is the first forum I have participated in. Although I am definately not an expert on digital, Videohelp is a wonderful place to learn and share with others. Please feel free to PM me if there are any questions or concerns; I do not wish to step on anyones toes.

If you've been lurking, like many of us did, then you're not a complete noobie ...especially after 2 years It sounds like you have a lot of experience to add here. An FCC license like yours is not trivial. I had one myself when I was in school, but let it lapse.

I suspect Babyboo didn't quite know what she was getting into when she volunteered her picture for the class photo. But make no mistake ...she's no weakling here. She knows her stuff, and she'll flame your butt if you push her too far Definitely not a pushover. She's the ranking female OTPW member ....out of two

I just returned from work, and am surprized to see the number of responses I've received. It's just as I suspected, you're all crazy. And I love it!

My work hours are quite varried, so you might find me at just about anytime of the night or day. It just depends upon my shift OR which "wacko of the week" is getting his fifteen minutes of fame. Today it was storms and power outages in the state. Damn Newsies always act like they've never seen rain before.

Welcome to the wierdest place on earth .... Funny... about 6 months ago when I almost overdosed my daughter on medicine I received quite a bit of support from my fellow OT whores.... So you will find it here... but they will also tell you to STFU and grow up on occasion and more than likely it is deserved.
