  1. is there an easy way to seperate the audio and video from an mpeg?
what I'm trying to do is use dvd-lab to create menus for my dvds. I'm having problems with it trying to transcode? my audio. If there is an easy way, like using virtualdub, to convert my audio to 48000khz in a MPA format and to make the video in a MPV format I'd like to know. I think tmpeg can do this but I'm looking at an hour for each of my mpegs and I want to put atleast 4 on one dvd. so If there is a fast way to do this I'd really like to hear about it.

    Thanks for reading this

You could use ffmpeg to re-encode to AC3, then bbdmux to demux the video. ffmpeg can also do mp2, but the quality of the libavcodec mp2 encoder isn't the best. Wonder if they will add toolame support like in mencoder?

TMPGEnc can do that. Just go to File>MPEG Tools and demultiplex.
