I just got an ATI DV Wonder firewire card that included a full version of Ulead VideoStudio 5. At $40, I thought it was a good deal. My problem is, I'm trying to capture video from my dv camcorder, but the avi that's created using VideoStudio is very jumpy in some places and it looks like several frames have been dropped. I've read all I can on VCD help, but haven't come up with anything that will help. I tried to use VirtualDub to do the capture, but it won't recognize the firewire card. If you could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!

Have you defragged your harddrive? This seems to make a significant difference in analog capture. But I'm not sure if this applies since you are using DV. It should copy everything without dropping frames (my guess).

DV requires you to have a pretty meaty harddrive, I think it needs a sustainable 3.8mb/s transfer speed, but I could be wrong. Apart from the usual defrag and enable DMA you may consider getting a dedicated capture drive.
