Hi everyone i was wondering what program I should use to insert subtitles into my mpeg2 file... I have the subtitles seperated from the audio/video and simply want to either re-encode to mpeg2 or vobs... either way I know how to burn it out into a play-able dvd
many thanks to all those that help![]()

Sorry to jump in on this thread, but I've the same problem. I've downloaded a load of Korean Divx films with english subs, but the subtitles seem to be a seperate file. so when I play the film on the pc with the subtitle file in the same folder (the subtitle file is a .srt) I get the subtitles, but when I burn both the mpeg & .srt files together it won't play on my standalone dvd player (it does support divx) with the subtitles showing.
Any help in being able to add the subtitles would be a great help.
thanksDon't you just love it when a plan comes together! :) -
Since you probably want the subtitles embedded permanently, why not use Virtual Dub and the TextSub filter to make a new DivX AVI?
Hello. -
...or encode AVI to DVD mpeg, author to DVD with:
DVDAuthorGUI which takes .srt files and adds DVD subtitles
or
run srt thru srt2sup and author with IfoEdit.

Thanks for the tips.
I wanted to try DVDAuthorgui. So I downloaded it from here & also other sites I've found, but i keep on getting the same error message
Component 'comdlg32.ocx' or one of it's dependencies is not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.
If someone has got a full workign version of this can you email it to me at pmc1_98@yahoo.com.

goto the download page, and download the supportfiles.rar package. Install the visual basic runtime files. This will copy the needed components to your system, and register them for you.
