  1. I have been trying to encode some files from OGM to m2v so i can burn them to DVD and it has been a success thus far, but a day or two ago TMPgenc started crashing my computer when i tried this very same conversion. It's infuriating. If anyone could give me some assistance with this problem i would be grateful.

Probably a hardware problem. Conversion is CPU intensive and weak components fail when you do it. So it could be a ram chip, cpu or even your power supply.

  3. Thanks for the reply, I don't know about that. I have been encoding files just like it for days and i just spent 6 hours testing to see if my hardware would give out but, it fully encoded a 145 minute divx movie to m2v no problem. Would there be a constant failure or would it be an occasional problem if my hardware wasn't up to snuff?

Flakey stuff can ocurr pretty randomly, usually you see it a lot related to heat problems esp. during the summer time. And trying to diagnose it is difficult unless you have spare parts to swap with. If it's really random it's even more difficult. Sorry I can't offer more advice.
