  1. i got a problem an its this:
i got a coupla files one with a framerate of 23.976 the pther with 29.97, both are mpegs. when i try to encode em, the resulting files come out with horizontal lines comin outta the moving images. im pretty sure this is somathin to do with interlacing. how do i correct this annoyance using tmpgenc plus? thanx

You don't. You correct it by viewing it on a TV as it was intended.

  3. Try playing the file with WinDVD it handles interlacing well, and should give you an idea what the final Video will look like on TV.

Assuming the original problem is interlacing.

    Who's looking for me ?

    It does sound like interlacing:

Does it look something like that ?

As mentioned, if you're watching on a TV or through PowerDVD or WinDVD, everything will be fine.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  8. yup looks like that 'cept maybe a bit more pronounced and the lines only become apparent when theres motion in the scene. ive burned to the file to disc and ots still there when i play in my dvd player. any ideas how i can correct this? maybe run the file thru tmpgenc again and select deinterlace?

Don't select deinterlace if you're planning to watch on a TV. I think it's either interlacing, or perhaps you have the wrong field order selected, because this tends to only show up when there's movement, whereas interlacing shows up even when the scene is still.
    If in doubt, Google it.

The next time you have a field order problem you can just use restream on the video portion ot the file to change the field order. Only takes a few minutes then just multiplex your new video file with the audio and your ready to author!
