I want to create a DVD with approximately 3 hours of (mainly) VHS footage. I use a liteOn DVD recorder to capture and then transfer those files to TMPEG DVD Author to create a DVD with menus.
Should I use the highest quality recording mode (1 or 2 hour) to capture and then shrink the final DVD in DVD Shrink or just capture in the recorder's 3 hour mode without shrinking?

Because if you shrink it you're still introducing a lower bitrate to the picture. Why not start with a lower bitrate to begin with and make sure it's not touched much.... Just my opinion
