I noticed (for the 3rd time), that a B&W captured movie (PAL via Satellite) gives Top Field First in contrast to bottom filed first with colour source.
The problem is, that the interlaced result tends to flicker when there is a horizontal movement.
Any ideas, how that could happen?

DVB transmissions are always Top Field First
Analogue captures, are mostly Top Field First (it is more a driver issue, but most drivers have top field first)
    DV is Bottom Field First

The flicker you have is a result of:

1- Bad sharpening (that produce field distortion)

2- Realtime mpeg 2 capture with mainconcept 1.4.2

3- Bad telecine (a source problem). If that is the issue, then when you burn to DVD you won't see it on TV. Or, you can de-interlace your source at the post proccess

It was DV capture from Analog source. It's very visible on TV.Changing field order during encoding works. It' most likely, it's a source problem.
Deinterlacing helps, but the motion is not as fluid (on TV).
