I'm am encoding some files for dvd. it's working fine but I was wondering why it also outputs a muxed file. Doesn't that make the process take longer? I looked and couldn't find how to disable that. Is it possible to just output the seperate video and audio files?
Also, does anyone know how to convert .wmv and .asf files on OS X?
Thanks for the help

You mean, that you only need the elementary m2v/mp2 streams for further processing with another application?
About your second question, you should convert them with ffmpegX like any other format, by using ffmpeg or mencoder engines. Please note that some codecs usually found in those containers may not be recognized.

yeah, exactly.
I assume it takes extra time so, if you only need the elementary streams to import into like, DVD studio Pro, can you only output the elementary streams to save time?
also, it takes extra time to write the VIDEO_TS files, right?
thanks for letting me know about the wmv files!!
If there's a codec in a wmv or asf that's not recognized, is it possible to install it or no?
thanks again for the help!!
