  1. I have a 3ivx file that is reported as being 23.98 fps in the line above "Open" when I first open the file in ffmpegX. However, when I click on 'Info', the frame rate is reported as 29.97.

Which one should I go with, and which is the accurate one?

  2. If it makes any difference, the source file is indeed a cinema movie, so I'm guessing the NTSC FILM rate is what I want, I just wondered why the "Info" button was wrong... Thanks!

  3. Still wondering - does anyone know what could be causing this?

  4. The "Info" button reports information stored in the header, this can be sometimes incorrect. The line above "Open" should be more accurate.

  5. major,

Thanks for the response. I actually thought it would have been the other way around as clicking on the "Info" button takes a second or two to report its findings, therefore I thought it was analyzing the file (which I guess it is...).

Good to know the best one to take - thanks!
