Yoda,
The only reason I pick on you so much is your going way overboard with starwars.
I am an avid reader and I like to read science fiction.
I like starwars and I like startrek, but I see them for what they are and leave it at that.
I do not worship at the shrine of George Lucas or Gene Roddenberry. I would never carry on like you do. They are just movies. They did not make you walk on water.
End rant
However, you are a nice person who is great to chat with, but you bring the teasing on yourself.

you should see the way i pick on my wife and kids --

No. Shooting noobs in the warez pool is much more gratifying, and they leave fewer feathersOriginally Posted by stiltman

Before "Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi" came out, a few selected theaters ran a double-bill of the first two releases ... I suspect to hype things up. At the time, I was managing the Renfro Drive-In Theater in Vancouver, WA, and we were one of the lucky theaters to get the double-bill. Beforehand, we received a special poster for display indicating the double-bill. And, down in the right hand corner of the poster was a small teaser saying something like, "Coming soon, the third installment in the Star Wars saga - REVENGE OF THE JEDI."Originally Posted by yoda313
Of course, Fox decided after the fact that "revenge" was not a Jedi trait and renamed the film, RETURN OF THE JEDI. They sent out notes to managers and, without explaining why, asked for the posters back ... that a new one would be mailed out. Hehe, I know of one poster that didn't make it back ... still sitting in the original manila envelope it was mailed in.
About 10 years ago, I was offered $500 for it sight unseen. But, I figure I'll wait until after the whole series is history ... then go to eBay to see what I can get for it. -
Hello,
Alec - Boy you got a goldmine there with an original "REVENGE JEDI" poster

Good plan. Actually, it might even bring in more money. There was a separate REVENGE OF THE JEDI poster. I suspect it's worth a lot of money, too. But mine was the "double-bill" poster, issued only to selected theaters (and likely less available). But, who knows.Originally Posted by yoda313

Careful with that stuff on Ebay. The Vero members will be all over you like crabs on a sailor on shore leave. I was reading the prohibited items list the other day and one of the items listed was original theatrical promotional material for films such as one sheet movie posters. I guess those things are only licensed for one purpose: theater exposure. Just be careful.Originally Posted by AlecWest

Hmmm ... you might be right. Right now, there are 17,639 references to "movie posters" on eBay, but, I suspect many of them may be reprints (and not have much value).Originally Posted by smearbrick1
Brief threadjack, then I'll crawl back into my hole. When I was managing the Renfro Drive-In, my projectionist (a film junkie) brought in his most prized possession to show off ... an original movie poster of "Casablanca." Later, his wife (clueless about movies) noticed the poster in his study and, as a birthday present, took it to a pro shop to have it "laminated."
Ahem. He has a new wife now. -
Looks like the Japanese poster is worth more - if you invest in some of these now, they could be worth more in a few years 8)

Yoda - Add smileys of a fitting nature.
That could be your misinterpretation. :/ If people don't see a joking laugh
at the end of a joking statement, they may take it seriously
. If it was honestly a simple joke and you manifested it so
and it was still taken the wrong way
just point them in the direction of the nearest complaint department
. I hope this post has helped
.
