Can all capitalized forum titles be automatically prevented?

I posted the subject "TEST!" and it went through - evidently punctuation prevents the all-caps rule working.

Also, it is possible to edit it back to all-caps, no trouble.

Are there any predefined functions in PHP that are similar to UCase() and LCase() for VBScript ? What about having a dummy ASP page that is fed with the title, and contains LCase(title), then feeds the result back to the posting page ?

In three days or so there haven't been any new ALL CAPITAL LETTERS titles out there!

Makes it a lot easier to read the main page without those distracting "HELP ME" posts in bold - they still post "help me" but it doesn't stick out the same annoying way

Maybe you can also look into prevent people from trying to use emoticons and bbcode in the topics.

I say we just altogether ban the words "problem" and "help" and "best" from subject lines. Nothing is "best" and it's a Captain Obvious moment when you post and say there is a problem or need help... DUH!!!
Three totally worthless words.

Maybe the word "sucks" could be added too. Another worthless word for a topic.

i think simply banning the word 'help' or 'problem' is a bit over reactionary.

But banning 'sucks' and or 'best' is probably good thing.

Sensible subjects often have help or problem in the title, but i cant think of a sensible one that involves sucks or best......

Unfortunately (as shown in test forum) it can be worked round, all you need to do is change one letter to non caps.....
