Message from the President

My Fellow Post Whores,

While updating the OT Post Whore Class of 2004 photo, it was suggested that the date be changed, and that re-elections should be held. I wholeheartedly agree that it shouldn't be an "office for life" thing. I'm not the Pope, after all

So, since the last elections were held on July 22, we will hold elections again on that day in 2005 for the official OT administrative positions.

Start thinking about who you would like to see in the positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. And I hope you have all been happy with my administration, in spite of the speed bump this summer

I have tried to be impartial, and not let the Moderator/OTPW President line get blurred too much. The feedback I've gotten suggests that most of you agree that I have kept the two worlds separate, except for rare instances where formal actions needed to be taken in the OT forum.

I like to think that while I'm here, I'm "one of the guys" only. And elsewhere, I'm doing my mod thing. I never wanted to get heavy-handed with anyone, but the rules can't be ignored either or we'd see a repeat of the precipice the OT was balanced on last August

But we came through that with minimum casualties, and a few who abandoned OT are showing up again. I'm glad to see that. I hate farewells like the flurry of those we saw there for a while.

It's been quite a year

In the meantime, I will be updating the class photo to "2005" We have had several additions to our ranks, and a few leaving. Some have faded and others have abruptly left, with no clues. Still others have had to curtail their activities here because of family or career pressures. I hope we see them returning as soon as they're able.

I would imagine the new president would install his own cabinet, but since there are no party lines in OT, except for the line to get Thayne's latest brew blend, there would no pressure to replace you, I would imagine.

We should hold nominations in early-to-mid July for about a 2-week period, so even the occasional posters can reply. Our absentee Treasurer Will Hay ....I don't know about. He's on his own. Same with our Class Secretary Treebeard ....I think he's MIA. Hard to find good help these days

There was a bit of nastiness in that thread and normally that wouldn't be enough, and she probably was prepared for flaming, but there were other ....incidents .....that compounded the damage. I just found out about those yesterday. However, that's her business and I won't elaborate or speculate on it.

It probably felt like a pile-on ....and it was apparently enough to send her packing. Just guessing on what happened, but that's where my money is

She still might check her PMs (hint). But I wouldn't hold my breath on her coming back here again ...but time will tell
