Hi, I'm doing some testing and need a good approach to produce a top quality AVI with sound, which is also in sync from a DVD. Any suggestions?

AutoGK, Gordian Knot, Dr.DivX, SimpleDivX ...
here's the rest...If in doubt, Google it. -
Hello,
Also virtualdubmod is a good choice (assuming you have lame mp3 and a divx/xvid codec installed
).

Thanks for the replys guys.
AutoGk is infected with adware nowdays.
I'll try Gordon Knot (although I really wanted to use the panasonic DV codec, I'll have a crack with the xvid one.
Does VirtualDubMod rip from DVD ?Have a nice Day -
Virtualdubmod can open VOBs directly (as can virtualdub-MPEG2). I don't personally know how the appending multiple VOB files goes (maybe someone else?), but you could always just set file-splitting to none in your ripper and make one big VOB file to input into vdub.
If in doubt, Google it. -
thanks Jimmalenko, didn't know that Virtualdubmod opened VOB's directly, so that should make the job as easy as;Originally Posted by jimmalenko
1. Rip, use Gordon Knot as it produces only one VOB.
2. Open in Virtualdubmod
3. Set compression to Panasonic DV
4. Direct stream copy.Have a nice Day -
I would think so. You can also use smartripper or DVDDecrypter directly and set the File Splitting to None with the same outcome. If you are setting the compression of the video, you'll need to set the video to Full Processing AFAIK, but you can keep the audio at Direct Stream Copy.Originally Posted by mikesbytesIf in doubt, Google it.
