I have a problem with the latest dvd's while playing them on my standalone dvd player. I want to see my movies in another room than where my player is located so I first connected my dvd with scart to my vhs-player and via ext. 2 of my vhs player with scart to my tv. But now the movie changes in brightness the whole time. dark to light to dark to light etc. (I don't have the problem when I directly connect my dvd player to my tv via a scart) I read something about a security option in latest movies where this happens. What can I do???

That is called "Macrovision" if you read your instructions for installation of your DVD player it should tell you that you can't hook DVD player to VCR then TV. This will prevent you from just recording DVD's on VCR, "how ingenius".
Better to just go directly from DVD to TV my friend. I don't know about the turning the VCR off. You can always try.

Kelumenati,
You can go to Radio shack and buy a "signal booster" for about $20 that should solve your problem.....
