i'm trying to convert an avi file to a dvd, but once it's encoded it runs slow as hell.

after watching the avi file i noticed it's frame rate kept jumping every second, but the movie seamed to play fine, like it was at normal steady frame rate.

does any1 know how to turn it into a constaint frame rate?

    thanks...

I've never heard of something having a variable frame rate - more likely that your player is choking on some part of the file (can happen with too high/too low bitrates), or your encoder choked (often MP3 VBR audio can do this). Then again, your player may not like the media you used.

(sorry, I'm struggling without my crystal ball - it's in for repairs )

What are your source file's stats ? (GSpot 2.52 screen dump would be handy)
What did you encode with ?
What did you author with ?
What did you burn with ?
What media did you use ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

OK, IMO you're an excellent candidate for my AVI to DVD guide

What settings did you encode to ?

Do you have the AC3 plugin for TMPGEnc ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

thats all the tmgenc settings i think

i think i got the ac3 plugin, where do i look to find it again? i'm encoding the audio by using besweet, than i use ifoedit to combine the movie from tmpgenc & audio from besweet. Then after that burn it using nero.

If you've got the AC3 plugin for TMPGEnc, why not use that to do the audio instead of besweet ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

i tried your guide and it hasn't fixed the problem.

i watched a avi file in winamp and it says at the bottom the frame rate that it's running at the momment.
throughout the film it said 25fps constantly, when i played my avi file i'm having problems converting the fps changed constanly ranging from 9fps to 28fps.

somehow i have a variable frame rate film, that when played looks normal, does any1 know how to fix this?
