  1. When trying to burn DVD from MPEG-2 that I obtained using ATI All in Wonder 9800 Pro with NeroExpress 3.0 using DRU-Sony 710A I get the following message:

Using Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2
I do not have any other burning software other than Nero

Media I am using is Sony DVD +R and have also tried Sony DVD + R Double Layer.

Error Writing the video data: I/O Error in DVD Engine. Burn process failed

I have the latest firmware installed and did check that the transfer mode is Ultra DMA Mode 4.

Here are the vital errors in the Nero log:

Personally I think your problem is Nero Express.

Use an application that is designed by a video based company rather than a burning based company.

I know you say you don't have any other burning software download a DVD authoring app and DVD Decrypter. Have the Authoring app output as an ISO and burn with Decrypter.

Thank you for your response. I downloaded TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 which also goes from ISO to DVD and it works great. It also burns the disk ten times faster than NERO was attempting to do. Your response is very much appreciated.
