I'm using Roxio DVDMAX to capure some frames from a DVD for my own personal use. I have no problem capturing and locating these files. My settings are shown here...
When I open this file in Photoshop, the image resolution is only 2.5 pixels/inch. Wierd. An example is shown here...
If I try to change this resolution to screen res (72), or print res (300), the file size is drastically too big. I know this should now happen this way. An example is shown here...
Notice what the file size would be.
Why is the resolution like this? Is this some type of DVD resolution? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I hope I have been thorough enough with these examples. Thank you.

My suggestion would be to set your capture setting to "Original video source size" - that should give a 720x480 (if you're in NTSC land) capture.
Also, if you want to change the resolution in Photoshop, un-check the "resample image" before you change the resoultion - this will change the resolution (i.e. 72 dpi, 300 dpi) without changing the pixel dimensions. You can't fool me, I'm a moron! -
Thanks. The "not resampling" the image in Photoshop worked. The setting for the caputure didn't matter. Problem solved.
