    BenQ ATAPI DVD DD 2X16X4X16 firmware G7M9

    I'm backing up some moives and when the Movie goes to the midle end part of it. It skips and start's to brake the image. Like if the DVD media were damaged or dirty. Only the DVD media is new

    softwares

    CloneCD
    and
    DVD Shrink 3.2
    and
    nero to burn dvd
    burn speed x8

    What brand dvds are you writing on......could be faulty media.....I just had this problem with Prodisc R03 media

  3. You should update the firmware, G7M9 is old and the BenQ has got much better with later firmwares.

    (obviously also a G7Z9 but I don't know anything about that one).

    G7P9 works well with my I/O MAGIC rebadeged BENQ 1620.

    What exactly is a bulk drive? And can the benq 1620 write DL media at 4x yet?

    They usually show as ATAPI blah...blah...blah, with a firmware revision starting with a "G". They can be flashed with official firmware to show BENQ with a "B" firmware revision. Yes, with current (give or take 3-4 versions) firmware, can write DL at 4X, although I haven't tried it yet.

    Mine was sold as a I/O Magic, although some of those are not BenQ.

    the drive is able to burn 4x DUAL LAYER via official firmware from BENQ not from a hack firmware.
