Cannot convert real to avi with 0.0.9r

Hello,
I am trying to convert a real movie into an MPEG4 movie (really, anything else)

I followed the installation instructions for the required software and libes to the point. The real movie plays fine in ffmpegX. But trying to encode it as e.g. MPEG4 (with mecoder) gives the errors attached below.

I cannot help but notice that cook.so.6.0 and drv4.so.6.0 were missing in the reallibrary archive that I downloaded.

Here are the error messages, any help is very appreciated, thanks!
