Hello,
My current set-up is
IDE1: Master: HDD
IDE1: Slave: Pioneer 108
IDE2: Master: DVD-ROM
I have read another post and I am wondering if my set-up is good.
Should I leave the HDD alone on IDE 1 and move the pioneer to IDE2 master and DVD-Rom to IDE2 slave?
What will I gain if I do that?
I do not burn on the fly.
Thanks

The Pioneer should be master and most would suggest putting the DVDRom as slave to the HDD, however if you don't burn on the fly I guess slave to the 108 would be fine.
Personally I would have the HDD(s) running off of RAID/SATA and both the DVDRom and Pioneer as master. Well actually I would also buy a cheap Asus or Lite-On CDRW for burning CD's. -

BTW, the thread you've mentioned is the one I was referring to.
So I conclude that it will be better to move the dvdrw to IDE 2, master.
I'll do it.
