Bought Datavideo VDR-1000 for $700 including shipping on ebay. I spent a day on this.
Captured VCD is so good (like Commercial VCD's).
Captured SVCD is almost DVD quality (99%).
No sync problem.
Tested with sources VHS, DVD, DV Cameras.(analog video, S-video)
The amazing part is, captured one is looking better than original(using VHS source).
I used STI cdr(low cost). VDR accepted this CD for recoring. I was so happy (I have 700 blank CDs at home).
This one has IEEE-1394 to capture from DV cams.
I have to test PHOTOCD option in coming days.
Recording is just like VCR. So simple.
I am planning to send the samples to VCDHELP forum. Really this unit is amazing.
Finally I can give rest for my computer system.
