    I burn to a 1x dvd just fine but it will not load the dvd at all. No autostart no movie playback nothing.

    8x dvd burners can't read 1x dvd-rs?

    They sure will.... Most likely your problem is the media itself. Considering it's 1x It's probably quite old and not on par with what they are making now.

    I would suggest the following which may help. Make sure your burning software is up to date, update the firmware on your DVD burner, and if that doesn't work get some better media.

    Criteria we need to determine the real problem:

    a) Media ID for the disc
    b) Brand name of the disc
    c) Model number of the drive(s)
    d) Firmware number of the drive(s)

    DVDInfoPro can help you find these things out. When you know, let us know, and we can be more helpful.

    You'll find that the Nec2500 is a great burner but a bad reader
