    Anyone familiar with this application?

I'm putting together a slideshow of pix and music and want to save it to MPEG format so I can put it onto a VCD

I cannot find a save option for MPEG. This sounded pretty lame but is it possible?

You cannot save to MPEG in MM2. You can save as DV-AVI and use one of the free conversion tools here to create the MPEG.

Do not save the output of MM2 in any other format if you want to use it for DVD. All the other options are too highly compressed. (ok, I have done it, but I didn't know any better at the time).

Thanks! I did try that but TMPGENC keeps crashing when trying to open the .avi file. WEIRD!

MM2 outputs DV-AVI Type 1. I understand TMPGEnc requires Type 2. There is a tool on this site to convert it. A site search should get you the name (I don't recall it at the moment).

EDIT: Here's a link to a thread that discusses it.

  5. For a simple project like that, I'd output the WMM2 "creation" to DV-AVI as has been suggested then use an "all-in-one" to finish the job. D.I.K.O. works well for me as does The Film Machine. If you already have TMPGenc, and TDA, then they certainly will do fine, but they are "pay for" programs (free 30 day trials I think). Maybe the ones I mentioned are pay also but I think they are free (tools).

For some reason, I've had more success using Nero (came with my DVD writer) for the final burn.

WMM2 is for editing only or maybe for putting stuff on the web.
