  1. I use Proshow Gold to create slideshows. I would like to put some small shows on the web without having people download the Proshow software in order to see it. Is there someway to take display these files in Windows Media Player? Thanks.

What type of files does Proshow Gold output? They may be able to be fed into Windows Movie Maker 2 and you can then encode them to WMV files.
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

Personally I would use a web based application to create slideshows for the web and skip the movie part all toghether. You can create higher quality images at a fraction of the bandwidth.

If you want me to elaborate some more I will..... I can even give you a basic html template if you want. here's a link to one I created a a few years ago... http://www.coaldelivery.com/gallery/breakers/pic001.html

  5. You can try Memories on Web http://www.picturetotv.com/mow.htm
It is free and plays right in your web browser. This assumes that you want to post them to your website that visitors can view to access the slide show. If you are looking to email it to them then I would probably create it with Memories on TV and convert to WMV.

Edit: Just re-read your post. If you are posting to your own website I would go the route of Memories on Web like I mentioned above. If you aren't then I would use the slide show you already created and encode it to a WMV file using Windows Media Encoder (free download if you don't already have it)
No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space.

  6. WMV or RM web slideshows are SO ancient and technically inefficient. Flash slideshow is THE WAY. It has very powerful functions and saves bandwidth like you wouldn't believe. Check out SWF 'n Slide from Vertical Moon:

  8. It looks like some of the other replies may produce a better video, but what I have done in the past with ProShow is create an mpeg, open in Ulead VS and create a WMV as the output file. Works pretty good if you are OK with WMV.
